Read the German versionSag’s offen works because everyone treats each other fairly. These rules apply to everyone who uses the app. By sending a post, you accept them.
What this is about
“Sag’s offen” is a campaign by Julian Christ, candidate for Lord Mayor of Offenburg. You can share ideas, ask Julian questions and raise problems in Offenburg. Julian and his team read the posts and answer some of them, for example by video.
The app is not a service of the City of Offenburg. Julian collects topics for Offenburg. Urgent damage is the City’s responsibility. In acute danger, please call 112 or 110 immediately.
Taking part
- Reading and giving +1 work without an account, once per device and post.
- Sending posts also works without an account. You can give a name; without a name, your post appears as “Anonymous”. We can restrict sending without an account at any time, for example in case of misuse; you then need an account for it.
- An account (signing in with your email address and a code, or with Google) shows your posts on any device. Without an account you only see them on the device you sent them from.
- One account per person. Please give your real first name, with or without an account; for every post you can choose whether it appears with your name or anonymously.
- Do not pretend to be someone else, in particular not Julian Christ, his team or the city administration. We do not publish posts under such a name.
- Everyone can read. You can give +1, take part in polls, send posts and create an account from the age of 16.
Rules for posts
We publish posts that follow these rules. We do not publish any others.
1. Stay factual
Criticism is welcome, even sharp criticism. Insults, threats, hate speech and discrimination are not, including against Julian, other candidates or people in the administration.
2. No personal data
No names, addresses or phone numbers of other people. No recognisable faces and no number plates on photos; anything that is still on them we make unrecognisable before approval.
3. About Offenburg
It is about Offenburg, with its town centre and districts. We do not publish topics from elsewhere.
4. Once is enough
If there is already a post on a topic, we merge similar posts. Your +1 then counts there.
5. No advertising, no spam
No advertising for products or companies, no chain letters, no posts that do not fit the campaign.
6. Only your own photos, nothing unlawful
Only upload photos you have taken yourself. We do not publish content that breaks the law and may report it to the authorities.
How we review
- Every post is reviewed before it appears, as a rule by a small team; this can take a few hours. There is no right to publication.
- Ideas and questions without a photo that you send with an account may be published straight away by the team after an automatic pre-check finds nothing unusual. Posts with a photo and posts without an account are always approved by a person.
- If a post is not published, you will see the reason under “My posts”, often with a note from the team. You are then welcome to improve it and send it again.
- We only edit photos to make faces and number plates unrecognisable. We publish texts as you wrote them.
- The team may remove posts later if they break the rules.
- If you see a post that breaks the rules, flag it in the app as inappropriate. We will look at it.
- Anyone who repeatedly breaks the rules may be excluded from the campaign.
Rights to your content
Your texts and photos remain yours. You allow Julian Christ and his team to use them free of charge for the campaign: to show them in the app, to prepare them as images for sharing, to take them up in Julian’s answers and to show them on Julian’s channels, with your name or anonymously, as you chose. This right is simple (not exclusive), free of charge, not transferable and limited to the campaign and the election campaign of Julian Christ. It ends when you have the post deleted, or when the campaign ends after the election and we delete the posts. Videos and posts on Julian’s channels that have already been published and take up your post may remain; on request, we remove your name there.
You confirm that you hold the rights to your photos and that nobody who has not agreed can be recognised on them.
Julian’s answers
Julian’s answers are statements by a candidate in an election campaign, not decisions of the City.
Availability and liability
We do our best to make the app work well, but we cannot guarantee it. The campaign may end after the election; what then happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy.
The app is free of charge. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). In the case of slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential obligation on whose fulfilment you may rely, and then only for the foreseeable, typical damage. People who send content are themselves responsible for it; we review posts before publication but give no guarantee that they are correct.
You can delete your account in the app at any time. If these rules change, we will say so in the app. Questions: kontakt@julianchrist.de.
